Today we took an assessment over the story we just read. The story we read was Antojos, I got a 81 on it. Some of the questions repeated so the answers were pretty self explanatory. Today was kind of iffy, I got caught in the tardy lockout on the way to 4th period but my teacher got me out of it. Other than that the day was pretty good.

Today in class we presented our group work. A group member of mine lost our questions so I am assuming our group grade dropped. The presentations were very good. I also gave information about DR since that is what I did a previous project on. Everything went pretty smoothly today. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

Today in class we continued to work on our presentations. The presentations are tomorrow during 7th period. I hope all of my group members are at school because we have our own papers and all 3 papers together makes the group grade and then the individual papers of what we did gives us individual grades. Hopefully all of my fellow classmates get good grades on the presentation and aren’t too shy to present like me. Everything went smoothly today. Only bad thing was I wanted another waffle.

Today in class, we worked on our group presentations for the book Antojos by Julia Alvarez. I was in charge of the illustrations. There were different jobs for each person in the group, it was groups of 3 with the exception of one group. Basically, all of us had to do our part and then when time to present we present what we have and all that good stuff. Today was a pretty good day. There was nothing bad about today.

Today in class we had a sub. We worked in the college books and completed work. We had to write down 15 vocab words & answer questions that were majority fill in the blank. The day was very smooth, spilled water on myself though. There was nothing bad about today.

Frequently, in grocery stores or any other place, Latin/Hispanic people are told to “go back to where they came from.” Latinos make up about 18% of the United States, making them the largest minority group in America. In most cases, most Latins/Hispanics do not speak Spanish. Many Hispanic people are sometimes called Spanish, being Spanish means you are from Spain. Mexicans officially became citizens of the United States in the 1930’s, a little while after parts of Mexico were given up to the United States.

Today in class we finished presentations. I learned a lot of things about different counties. The cultures and traditions were nice too. I feel like mine could have been a little better. I think I could have changed the pictures.I liked the presentations overall though.

Today in class Mr. Rease thought it was funny to prank us by saying we had to present. All of us were very confused because we all knew that they are due on Monday. I managed to get a lot done today on my slides. Something about today that I liked was that I got some new info on my project. Something I didn’t like about today was that my friend wasn’t at school so it was kind of boring.

10/12/23

Today in class we worked on our presentations. I spent a whole 5 minutes trying to figure out the layout of my title slide, honestly embarrassing. I learned how to pronounce some of the words from a friend but let’s just say I forgot every single one of them. Something I enjoyed about today is that everyone is helping each other with their slides. There was nothing I didn’t like about today.

Today in class we started a nee lesson. The culture we are now studying is Latin America. We were assigned countries for our projects. At first I got Bolivia but then I convinced Mr. Rease to let me get another so now I have the Dominican Republic. Something I enjoyed about today is that it went by fast. There was nothing I didn’t like.

10/4/23

Today we wrote our essays using our bubble diagram sheet. Mr. Rease had a doctor’s appointment so he had to leave early. Since ehe had to leave early, we had to split up into 2 teachers rooms. The teachers room was very colorful and I like it. Something I liked about today was I finally got this essay out of the way. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like today.

10/3/23

Today we did more essay prep. We were given a bubble chart thing to help us come up with ideas for each body paragraph, then we wrote our thesis. The process wasn’t that difficult but trying to find the right information was difficult because I don’t know the pages by heart. Something I liked about today was that I got a good look on how my essay would look. Something I didn’t like about today was that all my classes were cold.

10/2/23

Today we prepared for our essay. We discussed what not to do in an essay & how to start it off with key things to keep the reader interested. We did a practice sheet to get the idea of how we would be doing our essays. We also took some vocab. Something that I enjoyed today was that it didn’t feel like a Monday so I wasn’t really stressing over anything. There was nothing I didn’t like about the day.
