Today in class we were assigned to do a creative writing assignment. We had to find a picture that we liked and write a poem about it and then explain why we picked the picture, the themes, and the literary devices we used. We had to write in the style of William Carlos Williams. I made my poem about a child breaking a plate. I wrote it to make the reader feel as if the child is actually talking to them and having a conversation with them.

Today in class we read a short poem about plums. The poem talked about how this person ate someones potential breakfast & knew that it was their breakfast for the next day. The person “apologized”, but you could tell it was not sincere. The person gave off sort of a vengeful vibe. We came up with the person and the owner of the plums were probably roommates, but didn’t get along very well. A theme we came up with was that you should watch the company you keep.

Today in class we read a poem called 'The Red Wheelbarrow.' It was a short poem, we talked about the importance of things you need or that you feel are extremely necessary & if you don't have what you need, it  doesn't feel right. For example, 5 things that so much depends upon for me is money ,my phone, transportation ,my purse , and writing utensils . They all have their individual uses. We also came up with two themes that were ,appreciate the little things and humans work with nature to accomplish important tasks.
